Technologies for the monitoring of animals in their natural environments are constantly evolving.

The "biomonitoring" through embedded electronic systems integrating accelerometers and/or GPS antennas is a major progress. Nevertheless, a compromise must be found between the additional weight represented by the fitted module, the fact that the technology does not jeopardise the well-being of the animal as well as the induced financial costs.
